‘One of the most eagerly anticipated albums this year’

— Jazz FM, 2014

Recorded with engineer Rudyard Lee Cullers at the Carriage House in Stamford, CT, Bill Laurance’s solo debut sees the pianist, composer and arranger collaborating closely with his Snarky Puppy bandmate Michael League, who co-produced and co-arranged its material. Fellow Snarky Puppy members Robert ‘Sput’ Searight (drums and percussion) Mike ‘Maz’ Maher (trumpet and flugelhorn) and Chris Bullock (tenor sax, clarinet, bass clarinet and flute) also feature, alongside an eight-piece chamber ensemble and assortment of additional contributors.

Its magnificent array of compositions bring together classical and jazz styles in an original and exciting new context, with emotive melodies, powerful rhythms and cinematic arrangements. The album was mixed by Nic Hard at Limebeat Studios in New York, NY, and mastered by Scott Hull at Masterdisk NYC. CD copies come with a DVD featuring the studio videos, shot and directed by Andy LaViolette.
